About the artist

Olivia Verev (*1986) is an Estonian artist working in video, installation and printmaking. The theme of unexpected violence has been the focus of Verev’s works in the last years. She has studied at the Estonian Academy of Arts (MA in Interdisciplinary Arts with prof. Jaan Toomik) and at Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig (Sound Art with prof. Ulrich Eller). In 2008 she was granted the Eduard Wiiralt Scholarship from the Estonian Ministry of Culture.
